House Father (Residential Supervisor)
Our boarding house accommodates a group of lively, spirited, and at times, challenging young men who require firm yet fair guidance. As House Father, you will be the central figure in maintaining order, upholding standards, and fostering personal development. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the house, ensuring that routines are followed, rules are respected, and every boy is held to account while being supported in their growth.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, calm, and firm discipline to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.
- Oversee daily routines including waking, meals, study periods, bedtime, and weekend activities.
- Ensure the boarding house is clean, secure, and properly maintained at all times.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor, building trust and encouraging responsibility.
- Monitor student behaviour and address issues promptly and appropriately.
- Work closely with teaching staff and senior housemasters on academic progress and pastoral care.
- Manage conflicts with fairness and sound judgement, escalating serious matters when necessary.
- Be available on-site for emergencies and student welfare support (with scheduled leave provided).
Person Specification:
- A mature male candidate (minimum age 35).
- Previous experience in a supervisory, disciplinary, or pastoral role—experience in schools, the armed forces, youth work, or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to command respect and maintain authority.
- Patience, emotional resilience, and excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Capable of managing difficult or defiant behaviour with firmness and fairness.
- High personal integrity, reliability, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of young people.
- Organized and practical, with attention to detail in managing household operations.
- Background in education, child development, or counselling is advantageous but not essential.
- Must be willing to reside on the premises and be available as required.
